Old mutual ripped me off

I took out three investment with Old Mutual, one Investment started deductions from the 25th of November 2014 for R 500, the second started deductions on the 25th of December 2014 for R 200 and the last was on the 25th of June 2015 for R 300, so all in all I have invested R 9500. I was shocked to learn that Old mutual took R 3500 for penalties. I called Old Mutual and spoke to one of the agents there and she told me the penalties was 30%. My question to Old Mutual is, where in the contracts I signed state that your penalties is 30%? and don't you think it is important for your advisers to warn us of the penalties before we sign the contract? Why is it that we learn of the penalties when we cancel ?, does it sound fair to you?. This two in one investment to me sound like ****. I was told if I cancel I will only pay for the admin fee and it should not be more than 300. As if it was not enough I had to wait 13 days for the funds to be paid. Not only did they pay it on their own free will but I had to call them everyday after 5 working days to ask when my money will be paid out. I just received their funds now as I type this message after cancelling on the 23rd of November 2015.
