old mutual refuse to pay widow

May 2015 my husband passed away from a gunshot wound in the head. Police are not investigating the case and old mutual insist that I would not be paid unti investigation is complete which is not likely to happen since the police are not doing anything and no where in the policy does it say that beneficiaries must prove their innocence to benefit. I'm is hurting emotionally now as well as financially. Old mutual can't be trusted
