Old Mutual Protect - No paying out funeral cover policy

Be very careful when taking Funeral Cover through Old Mutual Protect guys - they don't pay out and you cannot get any support from their call centre.

My dad passed away almost two months ago and after almost daily follow up from our side, several emails, and also visiting one of their branches, we are still being ignored - they took years and years of monthly premiums and are now to lackluster to payout.

All the monthly payments are up to date and we have summitted all the documents required 4 TIMES already. Every time we call them they promised the payment has been made, we have to wait 48 hours for it to clear. After 48 hours there is still no money, and no proof of payment can be provided.

I am starting to wonder if there was some form of possible internal ***** and Old Mutual Protect is trying to sweep it under the carpet and is hoping that we will eventually just go away.

Beware of their Funeral Cover guys - something is not right. Rather go to Sanlam or Avbob, they assisted immediately and the service is SO MUCH BETTER.
