Old Mutual outsources their work and I am appalled

Old Mutual has outsourced the finalising of a late family member's estate to Legatus. They have ********** reviews and there as no correspondence about this before, They are massively delayed, poor communication and there is nothing reassuring about this, Be careful when signing up with Old Mutual for anything, It looks like if you are not a multi millionaire they will outsource to unknown businesses to do this important work. Drop them as soon as you can, I am bewildered at how they outsource to organisations like this and think sending a lone email to inform you is ok. Rabid behaviour

Your direct contact will have no bearing on the issue and massive challenges with Legatus. Why outsource to these people? they will be getting 3% and even more from final estate value and this is the level of customer service? they have to be begged to send any correspondence and their work ethic is in the gutter. Old Mutual has been ***** for a few years now and this adds to it. Stop outsourcing to dingy offices in the norther suburbs of cape town. I dont care that they are all of a sudden emailing now too, That is only because I said something instead of sitting around and waiting for an email. I am the customer who will be paying them and yet this is the kind of organisations you trust to outsource to? it will be your eventual downfall.

my insights mean nothing to you. You outsource to companies you most likely google and click on the first page results. Our complaints are fruitless, big companies like OM doesn't care, the responses here too, automated chat gpt and from the database of responses that you give all your so called customer service trainees who if they knew better, would realise they are a conduit that goes nowhere, this will land nowhere. You will continue to outsource to the cheapest office/s so you can pull more revenue. So no thank you, and dont reply. Nothing will come of this but me nagging on a platform that you dont really use to effect change, its goes into a monthly report that is pontificated on to no end. Good luck with outsourcing to below standard organisations which OM HAS BEEN FOR DECADES if we are keeping it real.

Old Mutual outsources to Legatus is a dumpster fire ( 24 February 2024 review below)
We were assured of monthly updates, even if there was no progress, to keep communication lines open. They committed to this on 2 December, followed up in January, but are now two weeks overdue in February. There is nothing reassuring about this process.

Be careful when signing up with Old Mutual for anything—if you're not a multi-millionaire, they seem comfortable outsourcing critical estate matters to lesser-known businesses with little oversight. If you can, avoid them entirely. The idea that a single, belated email is sufficient notice is unacceptable.

This is beyond poor service—it’s reckless.
