Old Mutual lapsed my cover without informing me

The other day I walked in to Old Mutual to sort out my loyalty points only to find out that my greenlight life cover which I have been paying for for 10 years if not more has lapsed, it lapsed 2 years ago but I was never informed about this no phone call letter email nothing mind you this policy was not a bank debit order it was taken directly from my payslip, I asked why it lapsed and they said non payment but I have never not once gone unpaid by my employer and the odd thing is I have 2 other products from them that also deduct straight from my payslip those haven’t lapsed how is this possible? Now they are saying I will fortit 10 years of my premiums just like that, I’m frustrated and very disappointed at your failure to collect the premium as per our agreement and failure to communicate issues surrounding my Life cover in time to avoid this whole mess, goodness knows what would have been of my family if I had died for some reason and they had to claim only to find nothing.
