Old Mutual issues out personal information to strangers

I lost my ID book over a year ago and in June someone who had it opened a Old Mutual money account. I received notification of this account and contacted Old Mutual to let them know that this account was opened **********ly. Later on the same I was contacted by two consultants who told me that there was a mistake on Old Mutuals end and someone will call me to explain what had led to this account being opened. I then contacted their ***** department to let them know about the account. On the same day I received a call from the person who had used my ID to open this account and the lady claimed to have gotten my contact details from the Old Mutual consultant who was helping her. Old mutual only came back to say that the account has been closed and they never explained why they allow their staff to issue out client's personal information even though I am not their client. My understanding is that its against the law to issue out personal information without the person's consent and this happened after I had told the consultants that this was a ********** account.
