Old Mutual is ***********
Old Mutual employs *********** people. If anyone is looking for an insurance company to manage their retirement benefits - think twice. I retired in 2017 and then moved to another insurance Co. In 2018 a surplus amount was declared & I was never informed or paid out. This amount was declared to the tax department on an IT3(A) in 2019 and I PAID TAX on this amount. I had to complete a form in November 2019 to have this amount paid to me. I have been struggling since then to receive what is due to me. Old Mutuals excuse was they have to apply for a tax directive. After contacting SARS myself they informed me that Old Mutual completed the form incorrectly about 5 times. They have now received the tax directive and are going to deduct tax and issue me with an IRP5. How can they issue and IT3(a) and an IRP5 for the same lump amount?????
