OLD MUTUAL INVESTMENT *******

In 2014/2015, I was contact by a consultant of Old Mutual to sell me an investment plan. I was told all I need to invest is R250 per month and this is a 5 year plan. At the end of the 5 years, I will get back R50 000. Naturally, I was intrigued and very interested. I have asked the basic question, how is this done and I was told that Old Mutual invests every cent every month and it keeps growing on a monthly basis in order to get the R50,000 at the end of the 5 years and he went on to say I could carry on the investment at this point or choose to draw out the R50 000. So I agreed and signed up. I trued getting a hold of the consultant but months later found out he left Old Mutual a couple weeks after he signed me up. I tried numerous times to get information and thought I will wait until I receive a statement. eventually earlier this year I thought it is close to the 5 years, let me find out. When I called the lady that helped me sent me a screen shot of my investment from their system which is when I saw that the amount is around R12k. my premiums paid was around R13k. This did not make sense so I asked for a statement. This is where it gets interesting, I am paying a broker fee for the consultant that sold me the policy (which I guess would have been his fee) still being charged even though he no longer works there. Then I realized that what I paid thus far is more than what they want to pay me out. I sent a cancellation letter in the beginning of June as per the lady that was assisting me. 2 days later I get a mail asking me to complete a form to de-invest. I completed the form and sent it to them on the 1st July as it needed to be stamped by the commissioner of Oath. I have not received any update. I sent a follow up mail last week Friday and received a reply explaining i need to send the form which I already sent. I then I called again this morning and spoke to a call centre agent and he was very helpful at first and said he can do the withdrawal and I will get R11000. So I said it is not acceptable, I want all my premiums refunded as this was supposed to be an investment and I am supposed to gain from it and not lose. He then put me through a manager who was totally unhelpful to say the least. What is it going to take to get all my money back from Old Mutual? I have paid you guys religiously even when I was not working and now you are looking for excuses to either deduct money for your benefit. I also logged a call with their complaints and was told a guy will contact me and to date no email or call. PEOPLE DO NOT INVEST WITH OLD MUTUAL. RATHER OPEN A TAX FREE INVESTMENT WITH YOUR BANK.
