Old Mutual insurance

OLD mutual my husband decided to apply for insurance with another company to see if we can save some money. So this company was supposed to cancel his policies with Old Mutual . Which they did not do . So both companies put a debit order through the 1st of the monthin April 2024 .So my husband said to the new company nope this is not how you do business and stopped that policies immediatly . After he instructed Old Mutual to cancel his policies, he the contacted Old Mutual to ask them to not cancel the policies or reverse the cancelation. Intresting enough only his Life policy was cancelled . His disability cover and funeral cover was not. Since May that he was refunded his monthly instalment was paid back to us , only for the life policy . We have been trying to reinstate this policy since May with various phone calls emails ect. Luckily the other company picked up that both our life policies pay out to ourselves not our spouses or anyone else . How did that even happen? We went through some losses in our family and traumatic june, july and August . So since the 5th of September we have been trying to get this policy reinstated , because the 6th month reinstating of the policy ends on 20 September . We send forms through then it was in jpg so we had to change it to pdf which was done . Then the beneficiary part was not correct which was done. All the emails was send to the Old Mutual customer service. We phone get promised we will be phoned back but no one does. Once again this morning after phoning Old Mutual ,after receiving an email yesterday from old mutual that is saying the policy was cancelled in 2014 already so it can not be reinstated , what do they mean. We could not be helped apparently the policy number is correct . Apparently the application is still in process. So I am really worried I have all my Life policies ect with Old Mutual . So is this how my claims is alsongoing to be handled?
