OLD MUTUAL ILLNESS CLAIM REJECTED

Hi. My wife became ill with covid 19 during 2021 July. She was admitted in hospital and were put on a seduced coma for more than three weeks. She was on a ventilator because of breathing problems. She also had a stroke while on the ventilator and experienced weakness in her left arm and eyesight. The doctors also performed a tragia procedure to get her off the ventilator when she got better. She was discharged from hospital end of October 2021. She needed home oxygen and needed to care to learn to walk, bath, and basic daily duties. She was dismissed from her work due to illness. She was diagnosed afterwards with several chronic illnesses like hypertension, cholesterol, diabetes and glaucoma. Which she never had before covid.

Her employer had a providend fund at Old Mutual for his employees. She was paid out her providend fund money and also a temporarily disability lumpsum from the provident fund at Old Mutual.

I also had lifecover, severe illnesses and disability cover for her at Old Mutual. We put in a claim for severe illness under: chronic respiratory failure, coma, stroke and trauma. We provided all doctors and specialists reports as asked for Old Mutual. The outcome was that all claims were rejected?

My question is how they come to this decision made by one person who only send us an email to inform that the claims was rejected? She is still getting tired and have breathing problems. She must go for regular treatment for diabetes and glaucoma.

Can somebody please advise me what to do if I want to do further enquiries to Old Mutual please. I feel I'm still a loyal client but Old Mutual failed me and my family when we needed them.

THANKS
