Old Mutual Group Life Assurance - Melinda Fourie - ****** Rating

I have always been super healthy or so I thought and never saw the need for insurance for dread disease or death. Silly me and thankfully I was part of my companies life insurance/assurance, which covers medical disability as well as life. Old Mutual was our provider at the time of me being diagnosed with Colon Cancer (thank goodness). I was two years free and then it spread to liver. Chemo - operation - chemo and I was still fighting to remain working, but when it spread to the lung and I had to continue doing chemo, my oncologist suggested that I take temp medical disability - which morphed into permanent medical disability. My case is being handled by a lady called Melinda Fourie. Melinda has been super professional and very very kind in doing her job. Obviously companies need to ensure that they are not being ****med but I never felt as if I was being doubted in any way, when feedback was/is required from my medical team. Melinda checks in on me every 6 months. I would like to recommend her for an award internally if possible. She has definitely raised my opinion of insurers - Old Mutual has a real gem - please look after her - she is looking after me during a VERY VERY tough phase of my life. I truly hope that I am able to overcome this challenge, but at least I know that my monthly payments towards Life Assurance, over my career have come into good use.
