Old Mutual Funeral Cover ****

Dear Old Mutual I recently had a bad experience with Old Mutual Funeral Cover. Following the death of my mother, I submitted a funeral claim. The claim amount was paid in half. This is frustrating because all the premiums have been paid since the inception of the policy in 2018. The reason given is that I retired, but retirement has nothing to do with funeral cover especially because the premiums were being paid monthly as per the contractual agreement.

This is extremely unprofessional especially during such a sad time having to go from branch to branch only to be cheated and short-changed. This is a breach of contract and I will be taking it up for review. I am utterly disappointed. Should I have known this, I would have not brought you business or even recommended you.
