Old Mutual does not accept responsibility

I had taken out an investment with Old Mutual at Amanzimtoti (Galleria) sometime in March 2017. On the contract I had stipulated that my debit order date be the 27th of each month as I get paid on the 25th. To my surprise I was debited on 23rd of March. Obviously there would be insufficient funds in my account so I went into an overdraft and was charged R68.40 by my bank for Old Mutuals error.

I then contacted the consultant who signed my contract and forwarded him my bank statement. He accepted that they were experiencing problems with the banks and the debit orders. He was meant to get back to me regarding a refund/credit on my instalment. I constantly emailed him and his response was that he escalated my query to Head Office.

Four months later and still no feedback. I emailed the consultant yesterday and received feedback today only be be told that management sees no fault on their side despite my contract stipulating my debit order date to be the 27th of each month. The consultant pointed this fact and the faulty electronic application used at that time to management but they refuse to refund me.

This is not just about my R68.40 but the principal behind it.

Disgusted that such a huge organisation will not accept responsibility for an error which was clearly made by them and who show no concern for their clients.
