OLD MTUAL - HORRIBLE CLAIMS EXPERIENCE

What a horrible experience!!! I am a 36 year old female that has had to undergo major surgery for Endometriosis. diagnosed stage 4 by specifically a endo specialist, had to have a hysterectomy. I really believed that my stress and pain was over after the surgery and was relieved that i was covered under my old mutual plan as I missed 6 weeks of work and luckily Old Mutal covers for hysterectomy due to endometriosis. The Trauma of having a hysterectomy at such a young age was bad enough! Oh boy, was I very wrong to think that OM would provide any kind of relief. I sent my document, sent my drs forms, claims forms, ID, proof of bank, etc etc. Weeks later I'm told I need to send more docs, I sent everything I have. Then the docs were lost. Then I need to resend them. Then I am told it's with the assessor. Weeks later no feedback and again I need to follow up, all response I receive is its in process, its with an assessor and you will receive feedback through the normal channels. NOW after being told it's with an assessor I am told that they require documents. ALL the documents I have already sent. I am requested to send reports showing diagnosis. Anyone who is a medical practitioner knows that endometriosis cannot accurately be diagnosed with scans. Surely you have qualified medical team looking at medical related claims? My doctor confirmed that my uterus was removed as a result of endometriosis. The drs forms, and invoices indicate stage 4. I have sent and resent all my documents time and again. Now please Old Mutual, please, tell me what is a long paying client meant to do about the lack of internal processes and just pure disregard for others. Regardless of the medical diagnosis I have a salary continuation cover that costed me more then the cover over the years and it should cover my sick leave?!!!

This is really sad that a major company that sits with billions in peoples hard earned money cannot respect their own clients' urgency for a claim to be processed. We take insurance and pay loads of money so that we are covered and protected in the event of an unforeseen event. All old mutual is doing is adding to the burden and pain of an already traumatic experience.
