No response from Old Mutual on pay out of policy

My husband died and he left me a small policy at old mutual and I have been for five months to get that policy to pay out. All the paper work are correct like they requested but no feedback just nothing, I literally have to go to the branch everytime to find out what's the hold up and all they give is lame excuses and tell me to have patience. I need this money for my daughters education in January all ready but they just don't seem to care so what am I supposed to do now. Can anybody advise me please.
