Life Cover

My living partner last received a call from Old Mutual Head Office advising her that she needs to get payout of a life cover as her fiance passed on, however they have to investigate if the deceased has children etc. She was even asked over the phone if she knows Bella and she was honest and said yes. Bella is mother of the deceased. Its been a year and she has not received any communication or whatsoever. The only thing we found out is that deceased's brother made a letter of authority behind my living partners back, maybe he claimed the money without our knowledge.
