Investment need a letter of Authority while the beneficiary has been clearly stated on the policy...Shock of my lIFE...fIRST INSURANCE COMEPANT TO DO THAT

My Late Mom has an investment with old mutual, immediately when she passed away i went to cash out the policy as i am the 100% beneficiary on the policy , when i send the claim to the branch i received a letter saying that we need letter of authority, however when i call the call center or speaking to the branch consultant i was informed that i do not need the letter of authority as my mother clearly stated the beneficiary on her investment policy, Now it has been the whole year waiting for assistant and when i call the call centre now i was told i need an Estate account which was the shock of my life...because my mother does not own any Estate and no Assets she was just a Domestic worker with an Invested amount of R3000....No one is able to help

However she had same policy with Liberty Life which paid within certain period and large amount because of Beneficiaries were clearly stated there was no need for Letter of Authority.....

Now im wondering how is Old Mutual working because Call Centre and Branch do not advise of Letter of Authority they still assuring me of the pay out however back office does things differently.....how do we trust or carry on investing with Old mutual,,,,I need to be assisted before i escalate this further ,,,,,for the incompetence work and information provided
