Insurance ****??

Hello, I'm concerned. My mother retired and it seems like all the funeral/life policies she's been paying have gone down the drain.There are claims that if she was 65 maybe and only then can something be done.Since when has retirement age ever been 66?Nothing has been communicated to work out some plan,they just stopped. This worries me.Are we not being ****med???
