Incompetence

I have some Old Mutual shares which from time to time pay out a paltry dividend. I am changing my bank and wished to arrange for my banking details to be amended so that these dividends can be paid. I phoned the appropriate department and requested a form for this procedure. I was told they do not have such a form but I could use a change of address form (my address had also changed) and attach certain supporting documents. I returned the form and send a stamped bank letter showing all my new details and a certified copy of my ID which had been certified at the Post Office. They emailed back that this was not acceptable - an insult to an National organisation like the SAPO, also an insult to Africa's largest bank - Standard, who supp**** the stamped account details letters. They said I must have my ID certified at the Police Station (a disgusting suggestion when we are supposed to be avoiding crowded places during this pandemic), or by a Commissioner of Oaths - which most people do not have on hand, or a Justice of the Peace - do we have these in South Africa?. I have never before had an ID certified by the SAPO refused, and this from an organisation that on a previous occasion could not even get my account number correct!
