In 2021 I opened a policy for my father in law with a broker of old mutual

In 2021 I opened a policy for my father in law with a broker of old mutual. They day I opened the policy I told him it's for my father in law and am not sure of the birth year I only know his birthday it's 25th December the year not sure of...I told him to wait so I can bring him a ID copy of my father in law...I remember I gave him the ID copy of my father in law and my own father. But the day I wanted to make a claim I was told my father in law was not covered...but I paid every month it was dedicated from my salary at work. It was just he the broker added my father in law as my spouse and the wrong birth date. So today I got a message from the broker they not paying me out on anything.
