I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE

OLD MUTUAL OWES ME, AFTER BEING A MEMBER FOR THE PAST 8 YEARS, WHEN MY MOM PASSED AWAY LAST YEAR NOVEMBER, THEY TOLD ME THEY WONT PAY COS I WAS NOT PAYING MY PREMIUMS. IN 2014 I WAS RETRENCHED, I DID NOTIFY OLD MUTUAL ABOUT THAT. ALL I WANT IS MY PREMIUMS THAT I PAID FOR THE LAST 7 YEARS, THAT IS A LONG TIME.

I have checked your policies and note that you came to Old Mutual in April 2014 as you were not able to pay premiums due to your employment status. We provided a 4 month premium holiday on your policy, however, thereafter no further premiums were received and the policies lapsed. Your two policies are funeral cover policies, which means that the premiums pay for the cover to be active in the month that they are paid. Should a claim arise in that month it would be considered by Old Mutual. As a result the premiums that were paid to the policy cannot be refunded. There is no savings portion on your policies and therefore no disinvestment value is available. I realise this is not the response you were hoping for, but trust that it places the matter in perspective.
Kind regards
Belinda Hunt
