I was misled

I took a funeral cover where i was assured i'd be emediately after signing and even before my 1st premium goes off and that should anything happens i'd be able to claim. Then my mom died when i phoned my advisor at 1st he said i can claim then the following day he phoned saying he forgot to tell us that there is a waiting period of 1year given my mothers age, my frustration is that after he has got his commission n i already paid my premium and a death event happens is when i hear about waiting periods of which i was never awere off. I am now struggling to lay my mother to rest as i had the impression that she had a life cover in her name where she was covered imediately. I don't even think i would recommend Old Mutual to anyone anymore nor even take college fund policy thingie for my daughter nor any other policy with Old Mutual.
