HOW MUCH IS ENOUGH?

Recognise the catch phrase? Well, it belongs to Old Mutual. It promises, in my interpretation, a glorious future, filled with possibilities! Let me tell you what my shameful experience has been with Old Mutual.
My sister took a policy from Old Mutual in 1998. In 2008, after the policy had matured, I filled the forms that had been provided to claim. I never received a response. When I enquired in 2009 I was informed that I had to fill in other forms. I refused on the basis that it would be difficult to get relevant information.

I complained to the OM Ombudsman and received a response which stated the death value of the policy. It further stated that OM is prepared to make an \ex-gratia payment". I ask myself if that is how OM treats the investments of the masses of the poor who entrust them with their meagre funds hoping for a better future. The correspondence demanded that I sign an undertaking that I would not divulge any information ... without prior consent. I refused the offer as I felt that it restricted my rights"
