I submitted my complaint below last month and Kareemah from complaints reached out and requested documentation, I have sent numerous emails requesting and update and still no resolution! I am being pushed to take further steps as Old Mutual is not interested in resolving this matter.

August Complaint: My late husband had a educational policy for my son and in 2017 he passed away from a car accident in Swaziland.

I contacted my financial advisor (Lorna Scheepers) and she advised that I would have to claim for the policy to payout and then take out a new education policy for my son. I have since take out this new educational policy BUT Old mutual has still not paid out the policy in my husbands name.

3 YEARS LATER!! Old mutual is still requiring documentation in bits and pieces, I provided ID's copies, death certificate and Police Report from the Swaziland Police, however Old mutual now says they have a police form which needs to be filled out by the Swaziland police. I advised my financial advisor that I cannot get those forms signed as I do not reside in Swaziland and she requested me to provide her with the contact details for the police station in Swaziland which i have done months ago and still this matter has not been resolved. Old mutual has not problem taking our money, but when it is time to pay out, they give you the run around for absolutely no reason!!

The money from this policy could be helping pay for my sons school fees but that is not the case!!! I have emailed and called my financial advisor on numerous occasions and she has not been much help!!!

I am in the process of cancelling all policies i currently have with old mutual as i would hate for my children to not be able to receive whats due to them should I pass away.
