Funural Cover plan dropped to half upon claim

<p>I had a funeral policy with Old Mutual for my uncle. The cover i chose was for R20 000 upon death with a monthly premium of R205.</p> <p>I have been with Old Mutual for close to a year and i noticed some of my details were not recorded properly. Firstly, my uncle's date of birth was incorrect as it was captured 2 years older that what he is and secondly he was recorded as my father in law and not my uncle.</p> <p>i requested Old Mutual to correct the details and sent though affidavit and certified copied of the requested details. the process was dragging as it took me close to 3 months to get the details updated with me contacting the call centre for updates..</p> <p>It was eventually corrected, however i was sent an e-mail from JOSHUA ADAMS<br /> (Senior Administrator) to inform me that my cover plan has changed from the R20 000 to R11 500 but with the same monthly premium of R205. I was choked as to why the funeral cover plan would decrease (upon claim) where as my uncle was actually younger.... I would have expected for it to either remain the same... or for the monthly premium to decrease from the R205.</p>
