Funeral cover with Old Mutual is a ****

So my gran had a funeral policy with them and she passed away. They wouldn't payout for the funeral as they required documents. So I carried the costs for the funeral myself. Afterwards, I submitted all documents as requested and followed up in respect of payment.

I have called every 3 to 6 months for the last 4 years with no results whatsoever. I would highly recommend against getting a funeral policy with old mutual as there is a very strong chance that they won't pay out once the policy holder has died.
