********** ACTIVITY

My sister had a policy with Old Mutual. She passed on it’s about to be 10 years now. I knew her ID number off by head.

A friend of my got a job at Old Mutual and I asked him in 2017 to check if that policy exists. He checked and it showed that I was the beneficiary. I went back and forth trying to get the death certificate because it was no longer avail as the house burnt down.

But eventually I managed to get it. I called Old Mutual to ask if I do not have the BI1663 what can i do. The guy which I cannot remember his name advised me that the policy is not in his department but with group schemes. He then gave me a number to contact. I couldn’t contact that number at that as I was at work and my lunch was almost over. I went on the other day, I was advised to go to the branch because the guy over the phone told me that verification is required.

I went to the branch 3 days later, they told me that they cannot see or find and available or ever existed policy on system.

How is that possible when it was checked firstly by a friend, then a consultant over then phone then now it cannot be found now.

How can something disappear like that, without a trace?
