***** policy rules

Have an education policy for my son registered under my husband details and the debit order is deducted from my bank account. Old mutual refuses to give me any information as to why the policy was canceled, however, they have no issue deducting from my account. Policy was canceled due to a reversal done months ago due to a double debit. Never contacted us in months other than sending an SMS lastweek stating that the policy has been canceled. I would lime to know what happens to the mo ey that has been paid for about 10 years. Someone needs to get back to me to explain as in my eyes this is ***** on another level.

Dear Tasneem

Thank you for the review.

In terms of POPI Act we need to safeguard policyholder information and therefore the only person allowed to get information in his or her policy is the owner of the policy. You would note that this is the same for all financial institutions.

We can provide information to a third party on the explicit authority provided by the policyholder.
