DO NOT TRUST OLD MUTUAL WITH YOUR RETIREMENT FUNDS

Old Mutual is surely the worst company to invest your retirement funds in. Their staff are grossly ***********. The company fails to acknowledge correspondences directed by email and make important decisions without communicating the same to policy holders. A telephone call to their call centre easily averages more than 1 hour. Staff admittedly do not know who their managers are or even who the managing director is. Everything is blamed on the "system" as if the company is wholly run by AI. This company does not care about their customers and call centre staff casually tell you to report your complaint to the Insurance Ombudsman as if they feel the company is beyond reproach. THIS IS NOT AN INSURER TO BE TRUSTED WITH YOUR RETIREMENT SAVINGS since getting it paid out is harder than pulling teeth from a kicking donkey. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID

While I stand by my review of Old Mutual, there is at least one shining star in the employ of Old Mutual, Belinda Hunt. Belinda actually listens to a client's complaint and provides realistic timelines in which she will investigate and resolve the issue. In my 55 years of being a South African, I have yet to come across anyone with greater professionalism and efficiency than Belinda Hunt. Through her efforts my complaint was resolved completely in less than 24 hours. Old Mutual, if you let this woman train your front line staff, you will not have a single complaint. She is truly an asset to you business and you would do well to recognize and better utilize her people skill and expertise.
