After contributing to an OM RA (Max Balanced Fund) I decided to increase my monthly contribution substantially. Unable to do so via OM's My Portfolio I contacted the Call Centre for assistance. I was told that for this particular product, which OM moved me into without communication or consent was no longer serviced or could I increase the amount or move it. The fund in fact had stopped performing years ago and OM didn't inform me. I was then 'advised' to start a new RA with OM, from scratch. How could this be, how could OM fail to I form me, act on my behalf as they did over the years when they would end funds and migrate clients. So now I am stuck with a 'non-performer' fund, told to start again as I'm a few years off from retirement and that I should get a financial advisor. For lack of a better expression, *** OM?! You promised me that you would be there for me as a client, for when I retire, but it seems you won't, didn't plan on it and have left me with a serious problem. Don't have one of your FA or Brokers contact me, I want the Manager of Max Investments to call me directly and sort this out. You can move me to a better performing fund and accept my monthly contribution increase without me having to start from scratch. If not, then I'm happy to take out a full page ad in a national newspaper and relate my story, then close my RA with you, cut my losses re penalties et and move it to Investec or Coronation, who would of never have steered me into such a mess.
