Delays paying RA death benefit by a full year

On 7 May 2015 my husband died. He had RA policies with several insurers including Old Mutual.
The others were Sanlam and Momentum who paid within 3 months.
Old Mutual has delayed for almost a full year.
They have given excuses, failed to provide correct contact numbers on their correspondence, and don't answer their phones.
Their agent told me they always take a year to pay out.
Would I invest with them? Never.
Would I recommend them to a friend? Absolutely not.

****o Shavewood As confirmed, the payment will be finalsied when the Income Tax Certificate has been activated and we are able to apply for a tax directive. SARS has confirmed that this will take +/- 21 working days. We will therefore re-apply for a tax directive on 02 June 2016. Kind regards Brent Sellidon Complaints Management
