Death claim Insurance

Dear Helpline Peter,

I'm seeking guidance on a concerning insurance matter. My father passed away in 2012, leaving an Old Mutual policy for his 5 children. The policy stipulated equal distribution when all beneficiaries are of age.

However:

- We claimed in 2024, when all beneficiaries were adults. - Old Mutual allocated benefits unevenly, favoring younger siblings.

I feel:

- Disappointed - Confused - Financially disadvantaged

Questions:

1. Can Old Mutual alter policy stipulations after maturity? 2. How can I contest their decision? 3. Are there regulatory recourse options?
