Re: Complaint regarding delayed claim settlement by Old Mutual

I am writing to bring to your attention a concerning matter regarding the treatment received from Old Mutual.

I, Mr K Govender has been experiencing undue delays and difficulties in settling a claim submitted to Old Mutual.

The claim was submitted on 21 August 2024, and despite providing all required documents, the client has been subjected to prolonged delays and unnecessary requests. This has caused significant financial strain, particularly since the I need to continue paying the premiums on the policy while awaiting the claim settlement. The client's financial situation is further exacerbated by the fact that I rely on a grant for income.

What's more concerning is that I have been a loyal customer of Old Mutual for the past 28 years, holding two policies with the company. My long-standing relationship with Old Mutual makes the current treatment even more disappointing.

We urge you to investigate this matter and ensure that Old Mutual adheres to fair claims practices. The client deserves a prompt and fair resolution to their claim, and we request that you take necessary steps to facilitate this.
