CLOSURE WANTED

I would like to share an experience I have had with Old Mutual Claims department. Until this experience, I was under the impression that Old Mutual was a reputable company. My wife passed away in August of 2017 in India & after many hours of pain & suffering to obtain the correct certificates & death certificates I had her death registered in India. She had an insurance policy with Old Mutual for which I was the sole beneficiary, however as my late wife had two children before we were married I wanted the proceeds split equally between the two children. It was only after following the early course which took months, where I was only then I was informed by Old Mutual that since my wife had South African citizenship, her death had to be registered in South Africa. This I discovered was extremely difficult as I had to fly between two cities in India twice once to get the registration forms & then I had to fly back again to sign the documents in front of the Embassy staff & have my finger prints taken. All that was completed & the documents were sent to the South African Authorities in South Africa & eventually the SA death certificate was issued & shared with Old Mutual. My wife had not lived in South Africa nor worked in South Africa for twenty years. I was then at a later stage told that her Tax Registration had to be reactivated. This process appeared to be long winded and the documentation requirements continually growing. This was done on the 12th October 2019. I waited a month & then sent letters emails to Old Mutual asking if there is anything further needed from me & after sending mails asking for a response, I have received nothing. I just want closure. When I call through to Old Mutual, I am redirected to a consultant or I assume a call centre as one has to hold the line for 20 minutes or more. Often the line breaks and one has to redial and start in the calling queue. This process has taken more than 18 months . To make it more difficult I work in India, and I am available to Old Mutual to contact me on +***. The South African number is my son's number in South Africa whom has kindly assisted with various requirements.
