My mother passed on in January and had a couple of policies with Old Mutual. Some policies had beneficiaries and others did not. We were told that the ones that have beneficiaries would be paid out after submitting our ids and bank statements as beneficiaries. The policies that don’t have beneficiaries will have to be accompanied by letter of authority and estate late account. We are still awaiting letter of authority from Executors for the other policies but the ones that have beneficiaries what is the point to have a beneficiary if they are still going to demand a letter of authority and give us different information as consultants. The service is very very poor!
