Claim taking forever!!!
I resigned from my employment on 20h March 2018, I wanted to withdraw my provident fund, as I have new business interests. On the 3rd of May 2018, I was called by Old Mutual to inform me that the funds would be paid into my account in 5-10 working days. On the 10th day (17th May 2018), when I didn't receive any funds, I called Old Mutual, and held on for about 20 minutes, when finally another consultant answered and told me that because they had experienced a system glitch with loading the Tax, she would mark my clam as URGENT and make sure it was attended to URGENTLY. Today I called Old mutual again to enquire about my claim, once again I held on for about 20 minutes and was informed that in actual fact my claim would take 20 working days from the 3rd of May, when I asked why I was told 10 working days, I was rudely told that the Retention Consultants who originally called me on the 3rd May 2018 don't know anything about turnaround times, and I had to wait for 20 working days. I don't think these people realize how their unprofessionalism is an inconvenience to people like me who do not have an income. It has 2 WHOLE MONTHS since I resigned... Their online portal doesn't seem to work either, which means there is no help.
