Beware of old mutual retirement fund!!!
I withdrew my cash portion on the two pot system in January 2026. There was a tax directive from SARS which was deducted from my cash portion to which I agreed. My cash portion was paid out into my bank on the 3 march 2026. However, SARS was only paid from old mutual on the 21 May 2026!? This meant that I had to pay interest to SARS to the amount of R661.28 because of the late payment from old mutual retirement fund. Why did it take so long to pay SARS and why am I now responsible for the interest if old mutual delayed the payment to SARS for no reason??? I want old mutual to pay me back the R661.28.
