Banking Gone Wrong

I have a bamking account with Old Mutual Finance. On the 13th January 2017 I received a text message from them telling me to authorise them to deduct their premiums on the 28/02/2017 for their LONG TERM LOAN I have with them since November 2016. Yet I was happy because they were not going to deduct now in January. To my dismay surprise the following day my account had a reduced balance of about R1735.24.

Their message was as follows:

MR. S MZOTYANA. OMF confirms your consent to deduct your instalment via naedos in 1/2 debit order amount R1088.00 Ref ********** 1 and R647.24 on ********** 8 on Ref ********** 002. Call ********** 445.

Yet I went and enquire on the 17/01/2017 and was put on the line to speak to some guy woh refused to introduced himself to me. He just arogantly told me that they took my money witout my consent because my LOAN ACCOUNT was on ARREARS. So I told him there were some valid reasons my account was on arrears due to movement of my banking from CAPITEC to their banking institution. However, he didn't want to hear no reasoning with him and no reasons whatsoever. Instead he further coerced me to make further arrangements with the consultant that was helping me for further deductions. This type of Banking Attitude really disrupted my whole of January I haven't even recover even now. If Hello Peter can intervene and sort out this type of attitude and recover that money it could have helped me a great deal, because 28th February hasn't arrived still yet. He blatantly refused giving me his names until the end of the conversation. The time of the incident on that date 13th January 2017 was 13:30-14:42. I will be grateful if this can be sorted. Many thanks.

Kind regards,

Simphiwe Songezo Ndzotyana

**********

I have never re-entered into any contractual agreement or given them any permission with Old Mutual Finance to change my debit order days into the 15th of every month. You can ask them to send you a copy of where I signed authorising them to do so on a different date more than the initial month-end.

Good day Brent, I have taken note of the calls on my cellphone from you guys but I have deliberately ignored them because everytime Old Mutual enters into conversation with me they want debt collection from myself that I felt disingenuously not obligated to honour after they've decided to do as they please the day started banking with them. I was at some point intending to take this matter up with FSB until I developed that deliberate illusional blocking this issue on my personal systems. Regards Simphiwe

Hi Simphiwe

By your admission, you are confirming that you have not allowed Old Mutual Finance the opportunity to resolve this matter, whether in your favour or not.

Can you confirm why you placed the matter on HelloPeter if you do not wish that it be resolved?

You may take up the matter with the FSB or Ombudsman for Banking Services or National Credit Regulator who will refer the matter to Old Mutual Finance for resolution.

Regards

Best regards,
