All hope is lost
I've resigned from my previous employer end of March 2023, and decided to cash out my Superfund Provident fund. A claim was logged first week of April, and to date I still haven't received my payout. I have been getting the same response since the 18th April, when enquiring about the claim status via the WhatsApp service: "Hi Millicent K****tso, your claims status : Step 2/5 - Old Mutual has started processing your OLD MUTUAL SUPERFUND PROVIDENT FUND withdrawal claim. The next step is the disinvestment of your benefit. This could take 3 - 7 business days. We will advise when this step is completed. Your reference is:
Note: Type “retire” to return to the self-service for retirement fund members menu" And almost a month later, I'm still waiting...
I've called the call centre on the 28th April, and I was told the was an error on the system, which prevented my claim to go into disinvestment. Issue will be logged with IT to resolve the error. I called again on the 3rd of May, and was told my policy started disinvesting the previous day (2nd May) Yesterday, 10th May, I called to check on progress as there seems to be no other way to track my claim. Again, I was told there is a system error which, Again, needs to be logged with IT to get it fix. It's 2:43am and wide awake, as I do not know what else do I need to do to get my payout from Old Mutual. Bill's need to be paid, my kids have to eat, but thanks to the pathetic service from Old Mutual my family now has suffer. Thanks God my current retirement fund is not with Old Mutual, because, I honestly cannot deal with this.
Unfortunately, I'm looking for concrete feedback. Apparently there is a switching error (which is a system error) on my claim, which was picked up and logged with IT over a week ago (4 May), and that's still not resolved - I just got off the phone with the servicing consultant. This is really frustrating honestly. So I need someone to tell me if ever I would get my money, and by when. And by the way, I'm the one who always have to take my time, my money (airtime) to do the follow up, no one has bothered to contact me even after the issue was escalated. I'm really running out of options here, I can't be given the run around for wanting to withdraw my hard earned money. So, can I please get concrete feedback/something I can work with so I can plan accordingly. Debtors are calling me non stop they want their money, and I'm not even able to make payment arrangements with them as I'm in the dark with regards to my claim. Unfortunately, Old Mutual's excuses and internal escalations won't pay my bills.
Are you able to get me these answers?
Thanks
