After Death you are just a number
Good day
With regards to my father’s death claim that was submitted in February 2022:
*Name: *************** ID: ********************* Died: *********************
Contract: ************ Contract: ****************
After numerous phone calls from ourselves to the call center , and no satisfaction from the Old Mutual broker,
It has been more than a year since the deceased has passed away and a year since the claims has been submitted. We were informed that it takes UP TO 12 months to be finalised.
It is a year and till now no one has given my mother the beneficiary, E**********************, ID ********************any feedback regarding the payment nor the status or progress from this settlement.
I must truly admit that I think this is very unprofessional from your side. When you are still alive all promises from “don’t warry your spouse will be looked after you have passed. Reassuring you there is nothing to worry after you will pass” Well, with this experience I don’t think you guys keep to your word. My mother has been without an income for more than a year but why would that be a problem for you as my father seems to be just another number on your system.
I would like you to speed up your process and please finalise this as it truly is a matter of urgency.
Regards
Loretta Turpin ************ (Daughter of the deceased)
This was my last mail send to them. Again this morning i had to phone them asking any feedback. The same answer that they will send an email to escalate and request this to be finalise. Don't warry they will phone you in the next 10 business days. How many "10" business days must past before something is done.
All promises just to gain you as a client. But as soon as you have passed they don't give a dam because they already received years and years of payments. They don't care about the deceased family.
Why would we even consider taking out any policies from you.
Loosing someone is very traumatic and now to worry about income on top of grieving is indescribable.
