OKTOBERFEST 2021 - DISAPPOINTING

Very disappointed in the Oktoberfest, held at Hillcrest Quarry in Durbanville, on Saturday 30 October 2021. Firstly, we queued to get in at the gate, after the woman who had a clipboard with table bookings, had to check through the bookings to find the exact name we were booked under. (There were 3 bookings with the same first name - fathom that one out! Why, if the reservations was so strict, would the admin have bookings without people's surnames????) Then keep everyone waiting while we phoned to couple of our friends, to find out the surname of the person who booked out table?

The queues for the beers and food were ridiculously long, with festival goers waiting for over an hour in a queue for a beer! There was only one vendor selling beers, one selling wine, one selling food. Some people were so fed up with the long wait, that they left the venue.

The marquee where we were situated was virtually empty. There were many tables/seats vacant. We expected a bigger support, mainly due to the long queue to get in at the entrance.

Lastly, as its the Oktoberfest, one would expect the Bavarian fare to be top notch. We had the MOST AWFUL EISBEIN ever! Overcooked, dried out and very dark brown/burnt. Terrible.

Very disappointed.
