Disappointing experience

Extremely disappointing! I ordered a 10cm Coco melon choc cake on the 10th of April 2024 for my child's 1st birthday this weekend. I messaged them to ask what time I could fetch the cake and they said at 10 it will be ready.

I got there around 12 to fetch my cake and then they were looking everywhere for the cake cos they could not find it.

I waited very long until one of the staff spoke to me and said he is not sure what had happened, but they have a cake in the fridge which is the same theme which was baked the previous night and if I would settle for that instead. I said no, because I paid for a choc cake and that was a vanilla cake.

I said please sort this out and deliver my cake I ordered to my house, and he said he will sort it out and I wrote down my details.

I then left, stopped at a drive through which was a few minutes and went straight home.30 minutes after I reached home, the delivery guy brought the cake to my house.

how did they bake that cake so fast? doesn't a cake take time to bake, cool down and then only ice it?

when we cut the cake for my child's birthday, the sponge was dry, the thick ganache center was dry, and the taste was terrible.

so obviously the cake I ordered was not freshly baked, because they had messed up my order, they rushed and probably gave me an old cake that was not baked fresh.

I am very disappointed as I spoke so highly to my family about this place and then received a cake like that.
