Shocking customer service!!

Parked underground; eat out; when it came to paying for parking, the machine does not accept Discovery credit cards??!! Buzzing the lady, she told me that they do not accept Discovery cards, and i must go to a cash machine and draw cash???? They should have apologised, and allowed me out free of charge. What a cheek!!! I must go and draw cash, because they only accept certain cards????
