Nightmare at 122 Camarque Umdloti, letting agent Alandra ocean view escapes

Good day, I would like to write a review on our recent holiday at 122 Camarque in Umdloti. We had booked the Penthouse, cost quite a package… the place is just not worth that amount of money……. It’s actually a downgrade …on the day of arrival, the lift/ cable car is not working, which happens quite frequently but we were not notified of this.. We had to walk up like 12 flights of stairs to get to the penthouse. It took us almost 2.5 hours with our luggage and had my 80 year old mum and my 2 little kids… what a nightmare.. we called the agent , it only got sorted out that evening. We were totally exhausted couldn’t even do anything on the 1st day of our holiday.. we got there at 2.30pm, only got up with our luggage around 4.30pm and then the cherry on top load shedding from 5-7pm, couldn’t get down lift does not work… we decided to cook, and to add onto the frustration they have a stove that is not user friendly, the manual doesn’t even have clear instructions.. total disappointment… The couches were filthy, should have been cleaned before guests arrived, so unhygienic… downstairs 2 single beds and 1 double bed. Both single beds sink to the bottom, the mattresses totally uncomfortable and the duvet covers are of the cheapest quality.. the mattress on the double bed is just the same over used, sunked and most uncomfortable.. the bed lies on the floor with no legs.. my mum was practically sleeping on the floor… The main bedroom doesn’t even a queen or king size bed, just a double bed with an overused mattress… what I don’t understand is these people, meaning the owner and agent make money from renting these units out, why is there no upkeep. They call it a luxury apartment, gosh so far from it.. everything is rusty and dilapidated.. the gates don’t lock properly, the Wi-Fi stinks and the tvs don’t work properly.. the hot water runs cold after 5 mins.. the bathroom shower upstairs doesn’t not drain the water, u end up stand in water… On the 2nd day of staying there , the water stops from the night before. So no water the ffg day… seems like Umdloti faces these issues continuously, so maybe choose another location.we asked for alternate accommodation, they couldn’t help so we asked for a refund so we cud find alternate accommodation, they refused, holding us to ransom to stay there.Everything since the time we got there was just totally unpleasant.. As for the agent she is such an annoying, **** person, wasn’t able to solve any of our issues.. she wasn’t even apologetic for the many issues we had to face on our holiday… it’s just abt the money for the owner and the agent. I contacted the owner and she also didn’t give a damn…she said Louisa the cleaner would come sort things out, nobody showed up… furthermore the main bedroom does not have a door, which main bedroom where a husband and wife sleeps does not have a door… on our arrival there was nobody to greet us and show us around, not even a bottle of wine n chocolates as a welcome gift, if u booking a penthouse u would expect this, but all we got was just unpleasantness all round. And the cherry on top was , the agent withholding a portion of our deposit. The owner apparently still keeps stuff in the apartment cupboards marked private do not open.. the cupboards were open when we got there and she insisted that they were locked and we had broken the locks… I just despise those insinuations that we had opened it.. we are an affluent family, my kids go to private schools both my husband and I have our own businesses, my husband drives a Ferrari and Porsche, seriously… we going to open someone else’s cupboards??? How insulting, all because the agent and I kept butting heads from day one and she needed to create a situation… please those of you wanting to visit this place , think twice.. rather spend ur money elsewhere.. Both the owner and agent were all to happy to take our money , but didn’t want to hear our complaints… such a pity the owner chooses to be ******** of what’s going on whilst the agent runs the apartment to the ground… Ocean View escapes agent Alandra is the worst host ever… I will never book a holiday with her ever or even stay at Camarque 122 in Umdloti ever again… We booked the penthouse at Lazy Lizard, what an awesome place and awesome people to deal with..
