We will definitely not be returning to Ocean Basket Canal Walk.

My husband and i went to Ocean Basket Canal Walk for lunch on 15 July 2019.

We were seated by our waiter who seemed nice. We immediately ordered our drinks. One of the lady trainees brought our drinks and then our waiter was back after a while to take our meal order.

Another waiter from another section brought our food after what seemed quit a while as we had finished our drinks. This waiter offered condiments and to get new drinks. he even came around to our table again to ask if we were satisfied with our meals. some time after finishing our meals the pans were not cleared. We flagged down the second waiter to get our bill. This is when the first waiter returned to our table with bill in hand. Still not clearing the table he walks away. The trainee lady again comes to our table and clears the pans and glasses away. Our bill came to about R400 and we decided that we will split the gratuity between the 3 staff members who attended to our table. When we offered the first Waiter the R10 and asked for the the other 2 members to be called so that we could tip them, he (1st Waiter) got so rude, he actually gave the R10 back to my husband in a snobish matter and said "You keep it!" We then sat and waited a bit for the other 2 staff member to come to the table as we asked but they never did. The first waiter also did not stick around to see us out as the staff are a custom to do. There was also not a manager on the floor for us to speak to about the first guys attitude.
