The Bartender is Backed Up

Poor service experienced. Ordered drinks and 2 meals, received the meals after 30 minutes but no drinks were received. We were halfway through eating our food and asked the waiter for our drinks he said "The bartender is backed" This made no sense! How can you cook food faster than you can get drinks from a refrigerator. I reported this to the manager, he did not seem to care much, tried making and excuse but he did apologize.
