Wardah Dramat at your Cape Town Waterfront branch is a disgrace to your company and my suggestion is that she is removed from dealing with your patrons!

The service (and I use that word loosely) was atrocious . When we arrived using the entrance from the staircase and asked for a table the "manager" without even greeting us said there was a long queue at the other door and we needed to wait there ... no smile no please no indication as to how long the wait would be nothing . I will just add in here that we were so looking forward to some sushi and platters after a really long day . So we waited .... and waited ...and waited - over 30 minutes of waiting with 7 people in front of us . While waiting we counted easily 5 tables of 4 open but no one being seated but we still waited.

When we finally got to the front of the queue around 19h15 I asked the same "manager" why there were so many open tables and yet we weren't being seated ... her couldn't care less reply was they were too busy with the kitchen and soda fountain to seat customers and if she seated us we would wait anyway. I told her that was crazy and that them being busy was really not our problem as a customer all we wanted was to be seated and we didn't mind waiting if we could get a drink in the mean time . I was told she couldn't seat us until the gentleman calling the kitchen orders indicated it was fine ... she then went off and cleared some more empty tables. When she came back I asked to speak to someone in charge . The "manager" went and spoke to the gentleman calling the food orders he didn't bother even looking over she then asked Wardah to come and speak to us. I must just do there were now 21 people waiting to be seated behind us.

When Wardah came over to us the aggression and hostility in her body language was shocking after asking me to tell her what the problem seemed to be she then felt it nessecary to interrupt me telling me that it was busy because of fasting and most of the people in the restaurant were Muslims - I have no idea what that has to do with it, in my eyes we just wanted dinner and it was dinner time! She then said there was nothing she could so I asked her if it would be best if we leave she shrugged her shoulders and said we should do what we wanted body language is a silent communicator and her demeanour was surly and aggressive. And I told her that the service was disgusting. When leaving she then told me my 'attitude' was not needed and at that stage another customer behind us actually stepped in front of her put his hand on her shoulder (barricading her from me)and told her that that was not the way to speak to customers.

Needless to say at this stage we left and found elsewhere to eat. So having been an avid Ocean Basket fan I can now say that thanks to your representative Wardah Dramat I will not be singing your praises in fact it will the exact opposite!

Having been in the hospitality industry for over 20 years and actually a key facilitator in customer service training for a bluechip company I would strongly recommend that this issue is addressed before your representative is allowed to speak to any more of your customers .
