****** in Bedfordview, manager could care less.

Please note, we do not blame ocean basket for what happened. Our service was also brilliant and the food was delicious.

It was the actions by the manager that shocked us so.

My friend and I were sitting at an outside table at ocean basket in bedfordview 61 van buuren road. I am a smoke and therefore sit outside. ocean basket is very accommodating to my smokers needs.

on tuesday night at approximately 8:30PM a man in blue overalls walked past our table. He must have been watching us because we had just asked our waitor for the bill and it was one of the first times we had been outside alone.

my friend reached into her bag to get her purse to pay the bill. TO get to her purse she laid her phone down on the table. the man in overalls ran past the table and grabbed both of our cell phones.

I shouted no, a waitor ran out followed by 7 waitors and me. We ran after the man who got away in a car waiting for him.

on returning to the restaurant we were shocked by the managers lack of concern.

1. He did not come outside to check if we were okay. For all he knows the man could have had a gun pointed at us. 2. He went to check on the 3 other tables inside first to make sure they did not leave the restaurant. 3. how do I know this, well my friend immediately went inside to bill the bill so we could leave. 4. Not only did he ignore us, we were not even offered a complimentary sugar water to calm our nerves. 5. my friend asked the waitor to add on 10 % tip as the normal. During that moment she trusted she would not be taken advantage of, she was. OVer 20% tip was added. 6. We walked outside to our car where the manager was then standing and talking with his staff to find out what happened. The one girl said to him, "it happened so quick". He responded with, "and this is the third time it has happened!" I am sorry... f this is the third time this has happened should you not warn two single ladies sitting outside by themselves to watch their belongings. Actually had we been warned at all, we would have sat inside. I could have gone without smoking rather than had our phones ******.

7. Most shockingly, we never received an apology from the manager, we understand it his not his fault, but an apology would still be appreciated. The waiters were wonderful and very helpful.

The next day I phoned and asked to speak to the manager, just to check that nothing had been left behind at our table in our state of panic. I was treated like a bother, and still not apologised to . Instead told, "you left nothing behind, we cleaned up after you and that was it, is that all you wanted ? "

God forbid I phoned to check if I had left anything behind.

My friend phoned after me, she felt that the manager should make the staff warn patrons of the restaurant that this was an area for *****ing and pickpocketing. The manager turned around and blamed her, saying that his staff does warn people and that it is not his fault.

All in all, the manager, an older gentlemen. Did not at all make us feel welcome back to the restaurant and made us feel guilty that we were ******.

Not a good experience at all.
