Ocean basket V and A waterfront
On Sunday 29th Dec 2019, my family and I (4 adults)visited the Ocean basket at the waterfront. We ordered the family platter at a cost of R548 approximately. When the meal arrived, we found that the table for 4, given to us was much to small. The waiters were not willing to give us a bigger table. The first manager was unwilling to give us a bigger table as well. We explained that the plates (side plates) could barely fit on the table. We were afraid crockery would fly off the table. When the next manager arrived, who appeared to be more senior than the first, he moved the the platter in our table and imp**** that now there is enough space. Half our side plates were still off the table. I insisted that we were uncomfortable and that we needed more space. Only when we threatened to leave did he allow the waiter to give us a bigger table. After this incident I would not recommend anyone to order a meal at this restaurant unless you are happy with the seating arrangement before the time. In retrospect, we should have simply left the restaurant without paying. We are the paying customers and it was not an unreasonable request. This incident was a case of maximising profits at the risk of losing the patronage of regular customers.
