Ocean Basket - Standards vary greatly between restaurants and generally falling

We have supported Ocean Basket, mainly at the Liberty Midlands Mall approx once per month since they opened many years ago. We have always been really pleased with the food, normally 3 way calamari, until the 17th June ( my birthday) when the meal was terrible. When it first arrived it was covered in a sauce we did not order and when we reordered it, it was not up to standard.

What really worries me with Ocean Basket is that although it is a franchise the standard of the food varies considerably. We normally have the 3 way calamari and I would rate the Ocean Baskets as follows (bear in mind that it might be a while since we last ate at them) Midlands Mall 5 Star (generally) Shelly beach 1 Star ( food arrived within 5 minutes of ordering - obviously heated up . Durban Marine Parade 3 star, Gateway 4 Star ( at shopping centre) Near beachfront 1 star (tasteless, cold and reheated) St Lucia 3 star, Pavilion Mall (Durban) wont serve wine, Carasol ( near Springs) less than 1 star - served cold with sauce. Surely if one has a franchise the management should ensure that standards are upheld. Ocean Baskets are one of the few chains of restaurants that offer a smile and no specials. Surely you owe your customers good food.
